Abstract

|
|
The synthesis of monovalent and bivalent ligand derivatives of enoxacin was described. Enoxacin was reacted with formic acid or acetic anhydride to yield monovalent ligand carboxyic acids. Schotten-Baumann reaction of enoxacin with dicarboxylic acid chlorides gave bivalent ligand carboxyic acids. There carboxylic acids were treated with 3-bromophthalide or pivaloyloxymethyl chloride to give phthalidyl esters or pivaloyloxymethyl esters.
